Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet are our fire-bellied toads. They are called that because it looks like their bellies are on fire. Juliet is the fat one and Romeo is the moderate sized one. Both of them eat crickets. They are about 4 and a half years old. I think they enjoy watching us work. All they do is sleep, eat and swim. Ray says that if you listen when it is really quiet at night you can hear them singing. Some of us have heard it when they have stayed in our homes during the holidays. Sometimes we take them out of their tank and play with them during recess. It’s hard work to clean their cages when they get dirty, but we love having frogs in our class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. If anyone is interested in “froggie sitting” during the summer holidays just let Ray know. In the past we have had several families share them over the two month break.

301 On Ice!! - by John, Lint, and Colin

We have gone skating at Delude 3 times this year, and once on the canal.
We have gone to Delude twice for a casual skate and once for a skate-a-thon.
On the canal it was just a casual skate. Next we are going the Governor General’s house (Rideau Hall) for a tour and a normal skate today. During the canal skate we were split up into groups of fast skaters, normal skaters, and skaters who like to take their time. During our Delude skate every one would skate in one direction so nobody would hit each other. During the skate-a-thon we would see how many laps we could do in the time of 40 minutes. At this rate we will be in the Olympics for skating soon!!
